Dr. James McGuffee has worked in computer science education for over 30 years at various higher education institutions in the United States. He has previously participated in both SIGCSE and CCSC as a paper presenter, panel presenter, workshop/tutorial presenter, reviewer, and conference chair (for CCSC-South Central and CCSC-MidSouth).

James also serves on the SIGCSE Virtual 2024 steering committee with the specific role of future conference chair of SIGCSE Virtual 2026.
